Katie is a Certified Breastfeeding Specialist, Registered Dental Hygienist, and Orofacial Myofunctional Therapist who has been assisting mothers and babies with breastfeeding for 2.5 years, especially pre and post laser frenectomies.
She believes that all families should have equal opportunity and resources to be able to successfully achieve their breastfeeding goals.
Katie holds a certification as a Certified Breastfeeding Specialist with Lactation Education Resources, as well as a certification as a Orofacial Myofunctional Therapist through the American Academy of Orofacial Myofunctional Therapy. She is eligible to take the International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) boards in September 2020.
Lauren is a Registered Dietitian and Certified Lactation Counselor who is passionate about promoting maternal and child nutrition before, during, and after pregnancy. She believes that with support and knowledge, parents can reach their lactation and feeding goals.
Lauren holds a BS in Nutrition from Marywood University, a Masters in Nutrition from Boston University, and a certification as a Certified Lactation Counselor (CLC) from the Academy of Lactation Policy and Practice. Additionally, she has completed the course Maternal and Infant Nutrition in the First 1,000 Days at Cornell University.
BIRTH + POSTPARTUM DOULA
Nicole is a Birth and Postpartum Doula who uses her diverse training and expertise to help expectant parents prepare for childbirth and early parenthood.
She believes in the beauty and joy of birth, and is enthusiastic about supporting parents so that they may also have empowering experiences. This belief fueled her business, Doula on the Delaware.
Nicole has completed the Birth + Postpartum Maternal Support Practitioner training from BeboMia, as well as the Gena Kirby Rebozo Novice Training. In addition, she holds a certification as a Dancing For Birth™ instructor, and a certification in Adult and Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED from the American Red Cross.
Karina founded BMD out of her passion for supporting families. She believes that all families deserve to feel empowered through encouragement, compassion, and respect.
In addition to managing BMD, she is engaged in local community organizations, including the Southern Tier Breastfeeding Coalition, Broome County Childbirth Advocates, and La Leche League International.
Karina holds the following certifications: Certified Birth and Postpartum Doula from Doula Trainings International, Adult and Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED from the American Red Cross, and Certified Lactation Counselor (CLC) from the Academy of Lactation Policy and Practice. Karina is completing a Childbirth Educator training through Childbirth International, and a Pregnancy and Infant Loss (PAIL) training. She was previously trained and certified as a Bradley Method of Natural Childbirth instructor through The American Academy of Husband-Coached Childbirth.
